Guide to Indoor Pools in Grand Rapids, MI
MVP Sportsplex
If you're an early riser, then joining MVP Sportsplex might be the right choice for you. On weekdays, this pool is open at 5 AM, and on weekends, this pool is open at 7 AM on Saturdays and 8 AM on Sundays. Remember to check their website for the most up-to-date hours, but this indoor pool is great for those who want to swim before work because they can get there as early as 5 AM! There are two indoor pools at MVP Sportsplex. You can visit the 25-meter Lap Pool or the Warm Pool—both are amazing.
Salvation Army Kroc Center
Visiting the Salvation Army Kroc Center to swim is the perfect choice for someone who doesn't want to commit to joining a gym full-time. This pool offers guests long-term memberships or day passes, so if you're trying to figure out whether or not you enjoy swimming, going to the Salvation Army Croc Center in Grand Rapids for a day or two is a great choice. There are three 25-yard lap lanes at the pool, a lazy river, a water slide, and, of course, swim lessons for everyone—regardless of your skill level, you can take lessons here.
Venema Aquatic Center
We love the Venema Aquatic Center because it's open 24 hours. Affiliated with Calvin University, you'll find that the 50-meter pool at the Venema Aquatic Center is perfect for those athletes who are seasoned swimmers. If you love to swim, and you want to be around others who share a similar passion for the sport, then going to this indoor might be the right choice for you, because it is a 50-meter pool—bigger than most in town!
Mary Free Bed YMCA
There is a great pool with a diving board at the Mary Free Bed YMCA. Of course, getting a YMCA membership comes with perks like gym access, group fitness classes, and personal training sessions, so if you're looking to improve your fitness, then joining the Mary Free Bed YMCA could be the right option. The YMCA is typically a busy place to visit, so if you're looking to avoid a busy pool, this might not be the right choice for you.
Holland Aquatic Center
Although this pool is located a little bit outside Grand Rapids, MI, in Holland, MI, it's a great option if you're looking for a pool with physical therapy services included. At the Holland Aquatic Center, they have a large 50-meter pool, a 25-yard pool, and an instructional pool, where they host swim lessons. Whether you're looking to participate in swim lessons, rehabilitate after an injury (swimming is a great low-impact exercise!), or meet new people, visiting the Holland Aquatic Center might be the right pool for you. You can get a day pass to visit this pool, too.
